The Consultation

We start with a consultation so that we can assess your oral health and find out what it is about your smile that you would like to change. If you are new to our office, we will ask that you complete new patient paperwork, as well as a health history form. Once you are called back to meet with the doctor, the dentist thoroughly examines your oral health to ensure your teeth are healthy enough for restorations. In some cases, additional treatments are necessary to ensure a healthy foundation. Once we determine the precise dental issues you’d like to fix, we will help you decide how many veneers are right for you.

During your consultation, we are also happy to answer any questions that you may have about the procedure or recovery. Before leaving the office, we will schedule your next appointment to get started on your treatment.

The Treatment

At the second appointment, we begin the prep work on your teeth that are being treated. Your mouth will be numb for the entire procedure. The dentist will prepare your teeth by removing a tiny amount of enamel, which makes room for the veneers, and creates a stronger bond.

Digital Scans

Once your teeth are prepped, the dentist will capture digital scans of your teeth. These scans are used to fabricate your custom veneers to ensure they are the perfect size, shape, and thickness for your teeth. For some veneer cases, we can use these digital scans right in our office by sending them to our in-house milling unit, where your veneers are made on-site. However, in some instances, we may send off your scans and impressions to our trusted dental laboratory to make your veneers. If your veneers are made by an off-site lab.

Try-On

Next, we try on each veneer to ensure a proper fit, making additional adjustments as needed. Before bonding the veneers in place, they are baked in a special oven to set the material. A final polish by hand gives the veneers a natural-looking shiny finish.

Bonding

The final step in getting veneers is bonding them to your teeth. We use a special adhesive bonding agent that permanently holds them in place. Then, once all veneers are bonded, your gorgeous new smile is revealed.
